Sure your brand has worked for you in the past, heck it’s gotten you to where you are now hasn’t it?
But will it still work for your future business goals?

When helping my clients combat their branding overwhelm I’ve noticed they fall into one of these 3 categories of being STUCK:

1) Not attracting the right target audience

2) Not sure what their main brand message or brand voice should be. Or overly complicating their message.

3) Not sure visually what their branding efforts should look like, leaving them inconsistent on all fronts

That’s essentially what a brand strategy is, figuring out your who target audience is and where you can find them, learning how to speak directly to them, showcasing the problem you can solve for them and then showing up consistently via your voice and visuals.

    TO NICHE OR NOT TO NICHE?! Let's decide right NOW TO NICHE OR NOT TO NICHE?!

Let's decide right NOW! Here’s a few ways to NICHE down that aren’t industry specific…

Diving into niching and messaging are my fav pieces to tackle for my branding clients.

To be honest, I’m usually met with a lot of resistance here.

Mostly because of fear, FOMO, missing out on clients and money.
Guessing you've had those same thoughts too?

Here's the thing, when you narrow down your search the opposite reigns true.
You become easier to find and remain top of mind.

And it doesn’t have to be industry specific either…

When you think about niching down and isolating your main brand message, I invite you to think beyond a specific industry or particular demographic ; but more so, dive into the DATA that’s right in front of you.
(My clients have ALL the data. Psst! YOU do too! )

From previous clients, and I’ll emphasize, the IDEAL CLIENTS, those that light you up, search for commonalities that are beyond the basics :

1️⃣ Common pain points/struggles
Ex: facing burn out, loss of desires, lack of fulfilment

2️⃣ Personality traits of your audience. Look for the golden thread that can weave them together
Ex: high anxiety, type A personality, perfectionist stuck in analysis paralysis, and so on.
(It’ll be evident once you dissect your target audience more)

3️⃣ What are the desired outcome/results they are searching for. 
What does their after look like, for most.
Ex: calm, peace, balance, living a fulfilling life

4️⃣ Phase or stage of life. You may also notice that those who seek you are usually hitting a particular milestone in their life, Ex: changing their career, or starting a family, or recently divorced etc.

The list of ways to find common ground with your target audience is endless when you look past the standard practices.

This common ground is what you can use in your messaging to be more direct and call out to them.
Plus add your unique story and methodology into the mix and your message becomes a MAGNET!

AGEISM is still prevalent, especially for women in business. If we are to build our personal brands, along side our business brands with TRUST, I cannot deny my years around the sun. 

Here I am with no make-up, no filter, clearly no botox. 
My hair isn't even done. 
This is me. Wrinkles an all. 

I love this pic. My eldest took this photo of me on our family trip to Australia, with the magical GOLDCOAST as a backdrop.

Australia has been a bucket list item for me almost my entire life. 

I thought that it would never happen.
I thought it's too late to travel now with our kids. 
It's too far. I hate flying. I'm a terrible flyer. 
It's too much money. (list ALL of the excuses here)

Welp. We finally did it this past Christmas and it was EPIC.
It wasn't too late. It was the PERFECT TIME!

So grateful that I got to experience it.

I am thankful for so much in my life, including the business that I have built that has allowed this trip for us as a family, and so much more.

Let's not be fearful of numbers. Let's not allow anyone else dictate where we are suppose to be on our journey, and by when.

    Simply want to set something straight. You have yo Simply want to set something straight. You have your “logo icon” “subbrand” “secondary logo mark” “insert what you call that here.” Then there is your “extended/full/primary/main logo.”

Both are necessary.

Both serve a purpose.

Both are relevant and connected to your overall brand.

They are NOT the same thing 😬

The icon is a sneak peek to the full logo. (A more simplified iteration that can be used at a smaller scale, as a watermark, when the full logo doesn’t work)

The full logo, is the primary piece to be used often and illustrates what your business offers.

You need more than one iteration of your logo and they each serve a purpose.

We CLEAR NOW?!

In some scenarios I create a stacked(vertical) and extended (horizontal) version as well.

Plus ALL the different file formats.

Because you want your visual brand to always look it’s best wherever you need to place it.

Lastly, you didn’t pay billions for the world to recognize you yet ✔️, so sharing your full logo most is ideal. (The one with the full name and description)

(That’s when your clients brag for you, indirectly)

Share how you do it differently, and most importantly WHY

All POSITIVE ways to shine bright.

No need to bring a negative, wet blanket to your content

Let’s selectively choose the UPLIFTING approach as opposed to the more common, better than though, or scarcity, or doom and gloom approach when positioning our businesses.

1️⃣ Chances are you’re responding to the wrong in search of posts.
You know those that start with, “I’m searching for XYZ that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, that won’t break the bank, that is affordable.”
Do you reply?
DON’T
Unless you are just starting out, or need the cash, or want to devalue your service, don’t reply - RUN 🏃‍♀️ 💨

2️⃣ Or hanging out in the wrong Networking groups.
Know the stages of which those in that particular group are at. If they are all startups or fresh, chances are you won’t find established, high level businesses there. Be sure to do your homework before signing up or committing to networking events to see if your target audience is actually present.

3️⃣ Or most likely it’s your messaging, your value isn’t coming across clear and concise.
Is your main brand message clear? Do I instantly know who you serve and how? And better yet are the transformations you provide listed, and do they resonate with you TA as a strong desire they wish to achieve?

Be sure you know your target audience so well, that when they hear how you can help them they don’t think twice about hiring you.

STRATEGY + CREATIVITY

Sometimes it can be difficult to have full range creativity, when your strategic brain is barking in the background.

It has to be a happy balance of logic, data, reason, proof of concept, research, along with a clever and fitting design.

I have to swap out of these hats often. What I’ve learned is when I am in “CREATIVE MODE” I need to tell my STRATEGY BRAIN to simmer down and allow me room to explore, and have fun. Once I let all of my creativity out, I can then let my STRATEGIC BRAIN refine these options so it ALL MAKES SENSE and falls into PERFECT ALIGNMENT.
